ACTORS WANTED!
JANUARY 28TH and 30TH
Tamborine Mountain Little Theatre Group
will be producing “A Night of One Act Plays” from the 10th to the 24th of April 2010, in the Zamia Theatre, Main Street, North Tamborine.
We have a great combination of three one-act plays, delivering an evening of short, sharp and fast comedy.
The problem is: the plays combined have 18 characters, male and female, from teenage to septuagenarian. So we need at least 12 to 15 competent players.......
And we have serious doubts that we have the numbers available for that time of year.
So, if you have ever had a whim or an unresolved whisper, or a blisteringly hot passion to tread the boards, if even only once.......now is the time.
OPEN AUDITIONS
Thursday 28th (7.15 pm to 10pm) and Saturday 30th (1pm to 4pm), January 2010.
Zamia Theatre, Main Street, North Tamborine
All current, past and potential new members are welcome.
(Participation in the production is subject to financial membership of TMLT)
When are the rehearsals?
Monday and Thursday evenings, 7.15 pm to 10pm, excluding public holidays, from the 04th of February until the opening week of the April 08th (after Easter weekend).
(Please note: Additional rehearsals will be required closer to the performance dates, but these will be negotiated with cast.)
When are the performances?
Performances: Fridays & Saturdays 10, 12, 17, 18, 24 & 25 April.
Evening shows from 8pm. Saturday Matinees from 3pm
(Saturday afternoon matinees to be negotiated with cast.)
What are the plays?
Late Entry, by David Tristram, is a comedy of an Actress, entering a drama eisteddfod. While the Adjudicator, worn and weary from judging, wants to discredit her, he can’t help but be engaged by her improvised stories for why he shouldn’t.

Elizabeth the Third, by Ian Austin, is a short, fast comedy that exposes avarice and greed through a triple case of mistaken identity. Mildred Smith-Smithers, her mother Harriet and her daughter Nubilia, anxiously await the arrival of Mildred’s dead husband’s, long lost sister: Elizabeth. Things go awry when two more Elizabeths arrive that afternoon; one a spokesperson for the local bird watching club, the other the mother of Mildred’s long suffering maid, Eloise.

Battle Scarred Phallic Wounds, written by Rob Doran, is a love story and a comedy. Anything else we should know?
Yes. What you see in Theatre is only what you get when a team of creative, productive people do their bit behind the scenes. So TMLT is always looking for members interested in production design, set construction, marketing, sound, lighting, multimedia and front of house. If one of these is your angle of interest in how Theatre works, please come along and get involved.

SPECIAL INFORMATION SESSION and pre-audition reading of
Arsenic & Old Lace
2.00pm Saturday 6th March, in Molly's, at the rear of the main GCLT theatre
Gold Coast Little Theatre will hold auditions for this classic black
farce at 10.00am Sunday 28th March. The director, John Rees-Osborne, will hold
an information session in the form of an open reading in late February or early
March for actors who would like to know more about the play and the roles before
they commit to the actual audition. It’s a chance to read a few pages of
characters that interest you, or just to listen.
John says, ‘The session is not an audition or a performance for general public
entertainment. It’s for actors who are there to learn about the play. You won’t
be penalised at the audition if you don’t come to the reading - or given a role
just because you turned up at the reading!’
Audition
From 10.00am Sunday 28th March. Contact John Rees-Osborne for notes on
characters at 5578 9853 or
jre54165@bigpond.net.au
