Ozfrank Theatre announces director of training, John Nobbs’ election to Suzuki’s International Training Forum!
Tadashi Suzuki, creator of the Suzuki Actor Training Method, selected John, in 2009, to be one of 7 international Suzuki Training practitioners who form the Suzuki Symposium dedicated to the dissemination of his training world-wide. John is the only Australian representative on this Forum who meet regularly with Suzuki in Toga, Japan, to immerse themselves, under his direct tutelage, in his method of actor training.

January 24 to 31, 2012 Ozfrank Summer Intensive

Ozfrank’s popular Summer Workshop teaching the Frank Suzuki Actor Knowhow celebrates its 19th year in Brisbane. This annual physical theatre summer intensive, will once again be led by Ozfrank theatre’s co-founders John Nobbs and Jacqui Carroll.

The aim of this 8 day intensive is to introduce theatre artists, drama teachers, professionals and students, to the physical disciplines which produce bodies and voices which are strong, focussed and adaptable. For those already working within the Frank/Suzuki Actor Knowhow training system it is an opportunity to further refine and develop your skills.

"……. a grounding, empowering style of theatre training that improves clarity of mind, encourages team work and gets you out of your head and into your body….."

To accommodate those who have regular jobs the daily training sessions will commence at 6pm weekdays and at 5.00pm on weekends. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings will include video showings of the work by Tadashi Suzuki, Taduesz Kantor, Grotowski, Hijikata, etc. followed by discussions.
