A theatre play set at a mental institution where the doctor believes theatre is the best treatment to cure madness.
Bittersweet Madness! takes place at St. Serenity’s Mental Institution. For 50 years, St. Serenity’s has been a residence of eccentricity and questionable therapy methods. To celebrate this milestone, the institution’s psychiatrist, Dr. Finch, exposes his latest treatment theory: THEATRE! He will put Romeo and Juliet play on stage, and the residents will be the actors! As Dr. Finch states, “If they can master the stage… they can master their minds!” Whether this is true or not is entirely unclear, until the end.
