HISTORY
The Theatre Co-operative concept was discussed in 1995, leading to the formation of the Gold Coast Alliance in 1997, which became incorporated in 1998. Key figures included Joel Beskin, Alistair Beer, and David Keane. The Alliance aimed to raise the profile of live performance arts, pursue marketing opportunities, and benefit member companies by increasing audiences and improving resources.

DSA AWARDS
The Gold Coast Theatre Alliance established the DSA - Hero Awards in 2014 to recognize dedicated volunteers in the Community Arts sector. Member organizations can nominate individuals using a form submitted for validation. Verified nominees receive DSA badges and certificates at a breakfast ceremony.
