The Gold Coast Theatre Alliance introduced the Distinguished Service Awards in 2014. These are often unsung Heroes and the Awards  honour the dedicated volunteers in the Community Arts sector for their outstanding service.  These prestigious awards acknowledge those who engage tirelessly within their Performing Arts groups. The Youth Award is for under 25 year olds who display extraordinary work ethics, abilities to mentor other performers and are the future leaders within our Community.

During this celebration ceremony,which is held Bi-annually, one extraordinary volunteer is the recipient of the RED HAT Award. This person has displayed the attributes of our founding member, Mr Joel Beskin, who is renowned for his tireless contributions  to the Gold Coast performance industry for decades.

The next DSA ceremony will be combined with the Alliances 30th Anniversay in May 2027.
