Coolamon Singers – congratulations on completing your July Concert Series!
And next – Christmas!
The Music!
What an exciting ride 2025 has been for Coolamon Singers! In July we presented three concerts of music both classical and contemporary! First up were two performances with the brilliant Ayesha Gough at piano, and Maestro Marco Bellasi leading us all in Michael Haydn's Requiem in C Minor.
There was great excitement too to be singing a new work by a living composer! Northern Rivers artist, author and composer Matt Ottley, offered us his moving work, Et in Terra Pax, for choir and piano and what a thrill to premiere this for our Queensland fans! You can find Matt's composition video on YouTube. Ayesha's performance of Sposalizio, (Marriage) by Liszt transported us all with its heartfelt theme, so fresh for our newly married artistic leaders. The choir also showed its sensitive side with skilfully controlled tone and dynamics in a selection of a cappella motets. The third performance of the Michael Haydn Requiem provided the second half of the Winter Delights concert by Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra.
Reaching our friends and fans!
Marco and Ayesha both gave radio interviews, broadcast on 4mbs FM (Marco), and ABC Radio Gold Coast (Ayesha), and an item appeared in Tweed Valley Weekly by Madeleine Murray, keeping northern New South Wales up to date. The Coolamon Singers is being noticed now, highlighted on national platforms like Limelight Arts and Culture Magazine email newsletter, ClassikON weekly email newsletter, InDaily Weekend Edition, and ABC Classic What's On, with Alice Keith.
Closer to home, at Southport, Coolamon Singers was especially happy to host a visit from the Honourable John-Paul Langbroek, Minister for Education and the Arts, MP, who accepted an invitation to join us for our performance at St Peter's Anglican Church, Southport, on Saturday 12 July, where we much appreciated his interest and support.
Why we love singing!
Coolamon Singers is a singular talent on the Gold Coast, an accomplished 35 voice community choir, partnering with world class guest artists, under expert artistic leadership, to present this rare and exceptional program to a high standard. We thrive on learning the best music, building the beauty of our sound, bringing high quality singing to young singers and our audiences, sharing the meaning of the music, old and new. A review on ClassikON website by much loved Gold Coast star of stage and song, Anne Ryan, captures the joy of singing that motivates everyone in Coolamon Singers.

Thank you, Anne, for your warm support of our ambitious community music making! Next up is a Christmas program with Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols at its heart.
Come join us! Get in quick! Come and join us and share the thrill! The more, the merrier, the better, and the younger we get! Singing just makes you feel so good!
You can find us rehearsing every Friday afternoon, 4pm-6pm, at Burleigh Village Uniting Church.
