Within the Gold Coast Music Scene, there exists a lively community comprising musicians, artists, and fans who are instrumental in defining the cultural scene of the region through a wide range of genres and styles. North:

Vocalescence is hosting their annual Carols in the Park Christmas Markets this November, and are now taking expressions of interest from stallholders!

Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra

Gold Coast Youth Orchestra:

The Gold Coast Youth Orchestra is in search of talented and enthusiastic young musicians to become part of their vibrant community. Whether you specialize in strings, woodwinds, brass, or percussion, there is a place for you in our ensemble. The orchestra provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your musical skills, participate in exciting performances, and build long-lasting relationships with fellow music enthusiasts.


Remember that the deadline for applications is approaching rapidly, so don't delay! The GCYO are excited to listen to your audition and discover the unique flair you could bring to our orchestra. Gold Coast City Choir 

The Gold Coast City Choir has commenced rehearsals for the upcoming Christmas Cantata. Over the next fortnight, they are welcoming new members to participate in this performance by paying a $50 membership fee (regular fees will resume in 2025). There is no audition necessary, and while reading music is beneficial, it is not mandatory. For more information, please send a direct message from their Facebook Page.


 

South:

Coolamon Singers

Listen to the fantastic Coolamon Singers, the Gold Coast choir known for their impressive performances. Led by Marco Bellasi and supported by pianist Ayesha Gough, the choir will present popular musical hits, such as selections from Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, and South Pacific.


This live music event will also include the Gold Coast premiere of young Mozart’s first music theatre program, Thamos, King of Egypt, written when the composer was just twenty-three years old.

Tweed Theatre are currently holding AUDITIONS for the play "The Narcissist." Here are the available roles:

  3. Georgina: Female, aged 30-40 years old (Charming yoga teacher).

  4. Maddie: Female, aged 30-40 years old (Georgina’s best friend).

  5. Jily: Female, aged 50-70 years old (Yoga student).

  6. Roma: Female, aged 60-80 years old (Adam’s mother, elegant and articulate).

Murwillumbah Theatre Company

Only five more nights until the highly anticipated world premiere of the delightful pantomime, Saving Frogton’s Home, at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre, commencing on Saturday, October 19th at 6 PM!

Conceived and overseen by Karen Kester, the Creative Director of the Murwillumbah Theatre Company, Saving Frogton’s Home is a unique Australian interpretation of the timeless Grimm Brothers’ tale, The Frog Prince, with a strong environmental message at its core. As stated by writer/director Karen Kester, the goal is to provide the audience with a sense of optimism.

“It’s not just about the gratifying experience of watching and listening to the play, but about taking steps towards a brighter future for our planet, by feeling motivated to be more environmentally and socially aware.”

Saving Frogton’s Home will run at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre from October 19 to November 3. Tickets are priced at a reasonable $15 for adults and $7 for children, and can be purchased at www.murwillumbahtheatrecompany.com.au or through Trybooking at https://www.trybooking.com/CNXWO.

Seating options include rows and tables, allowing you to select your preference upon arrival. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments for the tables, or you can buy snacks at the canteen. The duration of Saving Frogton’s Home is 1 hour and 30 minutes, with an intermission included.

To make the experience even more special, the show on Friday, November 1, will have a “Freaky Friday at Frogton” Halloween Night theme. Murwillumbah Theatre Company encourage attendees to dress up as witches, goblins, or monsters! You’re sure to have a fantastic time at Saving Frogton’s Home!
