Coolamon Singers!


Coolamon Singers, based in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast in Queensland, has been a cultural presence for 30 years. The choir welcomes singers of all ages and backgrounds, performing a wide range of choral music in multiple languages. They present three major concert programs annually and collaborate with other musicians to create transformative performances.

The aim of Coolamon Singers is to create a dynamic group of singers committed to growth in choral singing and musicianship, fostering bonds with audiences and boosting community pride through concerts.

January 18, 2025: Sip & Sing: A Miscast Sing-Along, produced by Niamh Smith

Prepare to flip the script and sing to your heart's content! Picture a diva belting out "Defying Gravity" or a tenor tackling "On My Own." Grab a drink, warm up those vocal cords, and unleash your inner Broadway star!


February 8-22, 2025: The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals

Music & lyrics by Jeff Blim, book by Nick & Matt Lang, directed by Fiona Mumford. Featuring music direction by Alex Angus and choreography by Charlotte Carozo. Originally produced by StarKid Productions. In Hatchetfield, a musical pandemic hits the city, and it's up to Paul and friends to stop it and save humanity! The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals premieres in Queensland at Javeenbah.


March 14-18, 2025: Letters To Lindy

Written by Alana Valentine and directed by Laura Starre.

This gripping court case captured the nation's attention. A mother accused of murdering her child, claiming a dingo took her baby, faced zealous police and a flawed legal system. The media frenzy and national prejudices are laid bare, with Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton at the center of it all.


April 12, 2025: Blank, written by Nassim Soleimanpour, produced by Jake Goodall

In collaboration with Aurora Nova, this performance invites the audience and the performer to fill in the gaps in the script, revealing a story that celebrates human imagination. The concept may be simple, but the outcome is empowering as a random audience member's future is shaped by others' creativity.


May 10-24, 2025: Thursday's Child

Adapted for the stage by Eva Di Cesare, Sandra Eldridge, and Tim McGarry, directed by Hunter Wall and Chloe Smith, in arrangement with Monkey Baa Theatre Company.

Thursday's Child tells the story of Tin, born on a Thursday and destined to wander. This strange and lonely child explores subterranean tunnels, as narrated by his sister Harper Flute, showcasing an Australian farming family's strength during the Great Depression of the 1930s.


June 20-22, 2025: The Bed Party

Written by Sophia Davidson Gluyas and directed by Jake Goodall.

In a chaotic bedroom, five women navigate their complicated lives, from comforting a friend after a traumatic date to celebrating new romantic possibilities. As their stories unfold, the bonds of friendship among these fiercely loyal, loving, and radically honest women are both tested and strengthened.

The Bed Party will have its Queensland community theatre premiere at Javeenbah.


July 5, 2025: Sip & Sing: A Power Ballads Sing-Along

Produced by Kaela Gray and Rachel Love.

Whether you're a karaoke expert or just enjoy singing along in the car, this is your chance to belt out your favorite hits from the '80s, '90s, and beyond. Gather your friends, grab a drink, and get ready to rock the house down at Sip & Sing: Power Ballads Sing-Along!


August 2-16, 2025: Moriarty

Written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Taylor Holmes, in arrangement with ORiGiN Theatrical on behalf of Samuel French, a Concord Theatricals Company.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are back in action! With world peace at stake, they team up with American actress Irene Adler to take down the cunning criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty and his network of devious henchmen. Five actors will portray over 40 roles in this thrilling new adventure filled with danger—and laughter!

Moriarty will have its Australian premiere at Javeenbah.


October 24-26, 2025: Scenes From a Climate Era

Written by David Finnigan and directed by Jocelyn Moore-Carter, exclusively licensed by Yellow Creative Management.

Featuring massive artificial reefs, mirror clouds, and zombie mice, this play explores how we tackle grand, awe-inspiring ideas amidst the excitement of hope. With sixty-five short scenes that are comic, tragic, and everything in between, it’s packed with information, humanity, and truth—without preaching.

Scenes From a Climate Era will have its Queensland community premiere at Javeenbah.


November 8, 2025: Play in a Day

Written by Don Zolidis and directed by Jake Goodall, produced by special arrangement with YouthPLAYS.

Join us for one of the funniest productions on the Gold Coast in 2025! The twist? The cast, creative, and technical teams will have only 24 hours of rehearsal time! Stay tuned to our social media for updates on this uproarious comedy hitting the stage!


November 29 - December 13, 2025: One Man, Two Guvnors

Written by Richard Bean, directed by Mikayla Maree Melo, based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni. This production includes the song "Tomorrow Looks Good from Here" by Grant Olding, arranged with ORiGiN Theatrical on behalf of Samuel French.

After being fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes the minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small-time East End hood now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancée's father. However, Roscoe is actually his sister Rachel pretending to be her deceased brother, who was killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. This new English version by award-winning playwright Richard Bean intertwines themes of sex, food, and money.

Northern:

Vocalescence

Vocalescence, a renowned community organization dedicated to promoting arts and culture,

is thrilled to announce the upcoming event that has become a beloved tradition for many: the Carols in the Park Christmas Markets. This festive gathering, scheduled for this November, is a perfect opportunity for local artisans, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs to showcase their unique creations and products.

Spotlight theatre:

Spotlight Theatre is thrilled to announce the arrival of KICK IN THE BAUBLES, offering a charming start to the festive Christmas season! Helmed by the Gold Coast's esteemed Queen of British Comedy, DAWN CHINA, this timeless comedy is set to delight audiences.


It's another tranquil Christmas in the Bauble household, but chestnuts aren't roasting over an open fire. While a Silent Night would be appreciated, all is far from calm, and certainly not bright. Frank isn't wishing for Christmas every day; in fact, he's anxious about the arrival of his pretentious in-laws, who only contribute a single bottle of wine for the entire celebration.

“The Swinging 60s & 70s” begins where “The Fabulous 40s & 50s” left off two years ago. Another 20 years of wonderful music as seen through the eyes of an elderly couple, Alf and Betty. They watched the first show on their TV, but this time their TV is on the blink, so they “imagine” what a follow-up show might look like if the TV Station (Channel 14) ever decided to make it.


A show full of song, dance, colour, costumes and entertainment, with music from Beatlemania to Disco, this is a fun day/night out, not to be missed, for the entire family.

Murwillumbah Theatre Company

As the saying goes, there is no rest for the wicked! Following Windmill's production of "Grug," the Murwillumbah Theatre Company is excited to reveal their upcoming show, promising entertainment for all ages and the whole family to enjoy! The annual pantomime for this year, "Saving Frogton’s Home," has been written and directed by Karen Kester, a dedicated local primary school teacher.


The cast features both familiar faces and newcomers to MTC. "Saving Frogton’s Home" puts an Australian spin on the classic fairytale, The Frog Prince by the Brothers Grimm. The show will premiere on Saturday, October 19th, at 6 PM and will run until Sunday, November 3rd, at 2 PM for the public to enjoy.


Join Prince Frogton as he enlists the help of his friends—Millicent, the Keeper of the crystal ball, and two brothers, Zeb and McKendrick—to not only find his Princess but also to save his waterhole. This delightful pantomime captures the hilarious adventures of a group of friends as they seek wealth, romance, and aim to protect a piece of Aussie bushland from overzealous developers. BALLINA

The cast of Ballina Players' next production of "9 to 5" are sounding already incredible! They are eager to bring this show to life for you.

This empowering story follows three women as they overcome challenges in the male-dominated workforce of the late 1970s.

Performance dates: November 8 - December 1.
